Airport Safety and Security

Airport Fire and Rescue Service (AFRS) division respond to incidents and accidents involving aircraft, structural and other types of fires, medical emergencies, fuel spills and other types of hazardous materials releases including chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear threats and natural disasters.

Aviation Security (AVSEC) on the other hand are required to inspect, monitor and screen all passengers to make sure their safety is taken cared of at the airport. Airport Security professionals usually perform many of the following tasks:

  • Carrying out patrols in airports
  • Resolving inquiries from passengers
  • Using metal detectors and X-ray devices
  • Assisting with emergencies
  • Inspecting passengers
