Job Description

 

Position General Summary
Responsible to provide dedicated contract management support for the Penang International Airport Expansion Project by overseeing contract administration, ensuring compliance with MAHB governance requirements, and mitigating contractual and financial risks throughout the project lifecycle. 

Essential Position Function

Contract Administration

  • Administer, monitor, and track project contracts to ensure adherence to agreed terms and conditions.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all contractual documents, correspondence, and approvals.

  • Prepare, review, and verify variation orders, extension of time (EOT) requests, and claims.

Monitoring & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance requirements, and relevant legal frameworks.

  • Conduct periodic audits of contract performance and identify non-compliance issues.

  • Support project risk management by identifying potential contractual risks and proposing mitigation measures.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Serve as a liaison between Client Office, HQ PCD and external contractors.

  • Provide contract-related advice and support to project team members.

  • Generate timely contract performance and status reports for management review.

Dispute & Variation Management

  • Support negotiation and resolution of contractual disputes or claims.

  • Ensure proper documentation and approvals are obtained for all contract variations and amendments.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of contract administration processes and procurement frameworks.
  • Familiarity with JKR 203A, FIDIC, PAM, or other standard construction contract forms is an added advantage.\
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation discipline.

Relevant Industries

  • Degree with minimum 3 years relevant experience
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in contract management, procurement, or project administration (experience in construction/infrastructure projects preferred)

Education

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Law or a related field
