POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY

• Drive the Finance partnership with the business and assist in the implementation of the investor relations program. Provide advice, guidance, and support to business leaders, enabling and influencing decision-making to achieve optimal performance
• Support business function to maximize finance contributions to achieve the business objectives. Provide quality financial and commercial input to individual investment decisions, challenge key forecasting assumptions using financial, risks, and sensitivities analysis.
• To provide financial advisory on strategic and financial services with focus to increase company value 

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

Business Partner

• Manage the Subsidiary / Functional / Project P&L – accountable jointly with the head of the business unit / project
• Implement the organization’s finance policies and procedures within the business unit/project
• Manage the flows of accurate and timely financial information between business unit/project and central finance functions
• Develop professional capability of the finance team and the financial understanding of non-finance managers
• Develop business area / functional budgets and deliver finance plans according to the Group expectations
• Develop models to test and support business strategy and apply them to generate robust data for decision making
• Provide timely financial performance data in an agreed standard format to support regular operational decision making
• Quantify financial and operational risks in a bid environment
• Analysis, interpretation and control of P&L items
• Support pricing decisions and provide financial analysis/reconciliations as required
• Maintain and support all reporting processes and policy documentation
• Identify and deliver reporting process improvements that create value added opportunities and efficiencies
• Provide support and advice pertaining to tax, GST/SST and e-invoicing
• Supporting tax units with Company tax and deferred tax computation
• Coordinate the annual budgeting exercise for the entity

Key Challenges

• Identify key drivers of the Company to achieving Company vision and mission
• Meeting tight deadline set for management reporting to various stakeholders
• Improve current reporting efficiency
• Changes and development in FRS
• Technical issues and development in GST/SST and e-invoicing
• Tax Planning and Submission

Skills

• Working experience in handling full sets of accounts, preferably in retail industry.
• Possess years of experience in preparing management report and analysis for review and decision making.
• Experience in leading a team of finance staff
• Knowledge and understanding of the local and corporate business context
• Working  experience in a commercial organization
• Business partnering experience
• Good written and verbal communication with different levels of staff
• Experience working within a multi-disciplinary team and liaison with senior managers
• Computer literate especially in working with spreadsheets, analytics tools  as reporting and support business decision making (budgeting, forecasting and modeling), exposure to using enterprise system e.g. SAP and able to prepare presentation slide to deliver key messages

Relevant Industries

Unique Requirement

• Professional Qualification (ICAA,  ICAEW, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)

External

• Degree with minimum 5 years relevant experience.

Education

• Degree in preferably with Accounting/Finance
• Master degree would be an added advantage
