Job Description
POSITION GENERAL FUNCTIONS
- Conduct aerodrome inspections and enforcement activities within the airside boundary to ensure compliance with local and international standards and recommended practices (SARPs).
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Coordinate and facilitate activities related to operations and enforcement.
- Lead the shift in the absence of the Duty Executive, as instructed by the Duty Executive.
- Ensure all facilities are in serviceable condition and that aircraft maneuvering areas are safe for flight operations.
- Handle on-site communication and coordination with other operations units within Malaysia Airports, particularly the Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC), Engineering Division, and Flight Operations Management (FOM).
- Handle daily on-site communication and coordination with relevant stakeholders to ensure smooth airside operations.
- Prepare Notices to Airmen (NOTAM) for all scheduled and unscheduled activities, including maintenance work, operational changes, and area closures within the aerodrome, ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of information to all relevant stakeholders.
- Monitor and ensure that the apron is clear of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and close the area if hazards exist.
- Prepare preliminary investigation reports for accidents/incidents that are not related to aircraft, and ensure that safety officers collect relevant data.
- Report facility defects and file fault dockets, ensuring that the faults are rectified for operational use.
- Ensure that operational equipment (vehicles, Trunk Radio, VHF radio, mobile phones) is in good condition and sufficient according to the equipment inventory list.
- Ensure that checklists and other records are completed and kept in the designated storage/filing system.
- Prepare the monthly duty roster for shift operations.
- Manage the collection of Temporary Airside Vehicle Permits and Follow Me escort services.
- Report any hazards and non-compliance within the airside area.
- Verify that all airside drivers hold a valid Airside Driving Permit (ADP).
- Verify that all vehicles have a valid Airside Vehicle Permit (AVP).
- Check the validity of vehicles with temporary permits and ensure that the offloading of goods occurs at the correct loading bays.
- Ensure that airside drivers are operating the correct category of vehicle or equipment.
- Ensure that airside users comply with SOPs when operating their vehicles or equipment.
- Check the roadworthiness of all vehicles and equipment in the airside area.
- Manage FOD effectively and ensure the orderly parking of airside vehicles and equipment.
- Enforce rules and regulations for maintenance and project contractors during ongoing work, ensuring compliance with both local and international standards.
- Manage wildlife presence as outlined in the SOPs and guidelines.
- Meet the qualifications of a Competent Runway Inspector (CRI), MACA, and any other applicable regulatory requirements.

- Able to work in minimum supervision

- Possess driving licence (D) and able to handle manual transmission vehicle.

- Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Computer Literate
- Required skills: Radiotelephony Communication Skill, Supervisory Skill, airside operations knowledge & able to operate manual transmission vehicle.
- Energetic & Self Motivated.
- Willingness to perform a variety of jobs as requested.
- Good Proofreading skills.
- Takes initiative and can start/complete tasks with basic direction.
- Ability to learn & follow instructions.
Relevant Industries
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma Holder with 2–3 years of experience in Aviation/Airport Management, Transport/Operations, Zoology (Entomology/Ornithology), Safety and Health Management, Environmental Management, Landscaping Management, Contract Management, or equivalent are highly encouraged to apply.
- Fresh graduates with a strong desire to learn and a relevant Diploma are also highly encouraged to apply.
Additional Requirement
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a track record of effective leadership.
- Valid Class D driver’s license; must be confident and capable of driving manual vehicles.
- Perfect vision required (no color blindness or visual impairments) to ensure operational safety.
Education
- Academic Certification: Diploma Holder ONLY
- Preferred Fields: Aviation/Airport Management, Transport/Operations, Zoology (Entomology/Ornithology), Safety and Health Management, Environmental Management, Landscaping Management, Contract Management, or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Grade Requirement: Minimum CGPA of 2.80.
