Job Description

POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY

• Responsible to support Profit & Loss Management Unit in preparing accurate and timely MASB financial information and partnership with the business to achieve the management goals.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

Financial Closing and Reporting

• Perform month-end closing activities and ensure all OPEX transactions are accurately captured, accrued, and recorded in a timely manner.
• Produce accurate and timely monthly financial reports by airports for management review.
• Prepare and reconcile intercompany reports on a monthly basis.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data and reporting in line with internal and statutory standards

Budgeting and Monitoring

• Assist in annual budget preparation and business planning processes for MASB.
• Monitor and track OPEX budgets for all business areas to ensure spending is within approved limits.
• Process budget transfer requests from airports and update SAP upon obtaining necessary approvals as per the company’s Limit of Authority

Audit and Compliance

• Provide support during internal and external audits, including preparing relevant schedules and documentation.
• Assist in coordinating with Jabatan Akauntan Negara (JANM) for audit matters related to PSC Compensation & User Fee.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Financial Analysis and Support

• Provide financial information and insights to support operational and management analysis.
• Support the flow of accurate and timely financial data between business units, Shared Services, and Head Office Finance.
• Serve as an alternate committee member in financial evaluations, including tenders and quotations for spare parts purchases at Head Office.
• Prepare tax schedules and assist in corporate income tax computations.

Operational and Project Support

• Provide assistance and guidance to Local Site Support (Finance representatives at MASB airports).
  Contribute to the preparation of airport stock budgets and monitor related expenditures.
• Participate in special finance projects (e.g., GST implementation, financial software upgrades) by providing input on MASB operational matters
• Attend to ad-hoc reporting requests and other assignments as directed by management.
• Provide backup support to the Executive (Revenue) as required.

Skills

• Possess analytical mind.
• Able to handle pressure to meet tight deadlines set for closing of accounts and reporting to various stakeholders.
• Good written and verbal communications with different levels of staff
• Experience in working within a multi-disciplinary team and liaising with senior managers
• Computer literate especially in working with spreadsheets as reporting tools and support business decision making (budgeting, forecasting and modeling), exposure to using enterprise system e.g. SAP and able to prepare presentation slide to deliver key messages

Education

• Degree preferably in Accounting/Finance

Relevant Industries

• Degree in Accounting with 3 years of related working experience in the same position.

• At least 3 years of working experience in handling full sets of accounts.
• Possess at least 3 years experience in preparing management report and analysis for review and decision making.

Unique Requirement

• Professional Qualification (ICAA,  ICAEW, CPA, ACCA, CIMA or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA)
