POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY
- The Cloud Administrator is responsible for assisting in the management, support, and continuous improvement of Malaysia Airports’ hybrid cloud infrastructure. This role involves supporting daily cloud operations, managing change requests, maintaining documentation, and contributing to the evolution of cloud solutions to meet future business needs. The position offers hands-on experience with cloud technologies and opportunities for professional growth.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
Cloud Infrastructure Support:
- Assist in managing, monitoring, and maintaining Malaysia Airports’ hybrid cloud infrastructure to ensure stability, security, and high performance.
- Support daily operations and infrastructure scalability to meet evolving business needs.
Business User Support and Change Management:
- Provide basic technical support and solutions to business users.
- Assist in handling and implementing Change Requests (CR) while ensuring proper documentation and minimal disruption.
Security and Compliance:
- Follow IT security policies and best practices to safeguard cloud systems.
- Participate in security checks and help maintain compliance with industry standards.
System Optimization and Automation:
- Support efforts to improve system efficiency through basic automation and scripting.
- Contribute to resource optimization and cost control across the hybrid cloud infrastructure.
Operational Continuity and Disaster Recovery:
- Assist in maintaining continuous and uninterrupted cloud operations.
- Support backup, disaster recovery, and incident response procedures.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Help create and maintain accurate documentation for cloud configurations and operational activities.
- Contribute to performance and incident reporting to support continuous improvement.
Innovation and Solution Development:
- Contribute ideas for the continuous evolution and improvement of cloud solutions to meet future business demands.
- Stay updated on new cloud technologies and suggest innovative tools and practices.
Key Challenges
- Keep systems running 24/7 without downtime to support critical airport operations.
- Protect cloud systems from cyber threats while following security and compliance standards.
- Controlling and predicting cloud resource costs while meeting performance needs.
- Integrating legacy systems with modern cloud solutions.
- Bridging knowledge gaps between cloud, networking, and security.
Skills
1. Basic understanding of hybrid cloud environments and cloud computing concepts.
2. Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux).
3. Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls).
4. Interest in learning automation and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
5. Awareness of cybersecurity best practices.
6. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
7. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
8. Good communication and teamwork abilities.
9. Creative thinking to contribute to evolving cloud solutions.
Education
EXTERNAL
• Degree preferably with specialization in Computer Science/Information Technology/ Engineering (Computer/ Telecommunication) or equivalent
• Professional certification; VCP, MCSE/MCTP or relevant industry certification strongly preferred
