POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY

Manage, plan, develop and control estate through best methods to ensure the company obtains maximum productivity from its estate in Sarawak region.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

• Perform, leads and supervise the development project of new planting in Sibu (252.16 ha), Miri (230.36 ha), Bintulu (409.62 ha) and Limbang (167.52 ha) and some other areas in future within the region which include land clearing leading to planting of oil palm.  Subsequently, maintaining of the immature palm up to maturity period according to industry practice.
• Perform, lead or supervise the preparation for an area which newly matured for harvesting comply to the industry practices.
• Perform, leads or supervises the inspection, grading, regulation and/or quality control standards for Fresh Fruits Bunches (FFB)/services or research/teaching programs.
• Perform budget and maintain operating expenditure records which relate to the estate under his/her response.
• Perform training/instructing and supervising subordinate in ensuring the work progress carry out in the estate is satisfactorily.
• Ensure the company complies with government regulations and health & safety standards.
• Keeping an up todate knowledge of pest and disease which relate to oil palm estate in ensuring maximum productivity.
• Recommend penalties or appropriate course of action for violation of laws and regulations.
• To establish good rapport with land authorities which related to agriculture such as Malaysia Palm Oil Board, Jabatan Pertanian,   Natural Resources and Environment Board. 
• Maintaining good relationship with local surrounding - airport staff, kampung folks, Custom and Immigration Dept, Police Dept, Land & Survey Dept, Dept of Civil Aviation etc.
• Verification of contract work awarded in order to facilitate payment process.

Key Challenges

• Ensure the estate is profitable and meet projected financial targets.
• Managing plantation within the airport development area, fast decision and effective communication is essential.

Skills

• Strong Technical knowledge on plantation / landscape and other related activities.
• Knowledge in accounting, labour law and immigration act.
• Good analytical and planning skills, good computing skills, able to work under pressure, a fast learner and able to work in a team or individually.
• Good communication and people management skills.
• Possesses good organizational and time management skills.
• Good command English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Relevant Industries

EXTERNAL

• Degree with minimum 5 years relevant experience.

Education

EXTERNAL

• Degree preferably with specialization in Plantation Management, Agriculture / Engineering (Agriculture)/ Environment Science/ Forestry/ Biodiversity.
• Master degree would be an added advantage
