Job Description

POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY

  • Effectively manage IT projects in alignment with established procedures and governance frameworks, overseeing all phases from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure—ensuring delivery within defined scope, timeline, quality, and budget parameters while maintaining product excellence and achieving business objectives and value.


ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible to ensure all approved IT projects are completed as per business needs as per agreed cost, time, quality of work and resources.
  • Develop and maintain the project management plan, resource management plan and all other related plans which comply with the company policy and procedures.
  • Well preparation of project documentations, reports, presentation, communication and timely submission of progress update and reporting to the management.
  • Effective project risk and issue management.
  • Develops, organised and lead the communication plan to ensure stakeholders collaborate with the latest project updates and progress promptly.
  • Ensure project change must comply with the Change Management process and procedures.
  • Verifies project financial, budget and payment are within the agreed contractual terms.
  • Provide guidelines for new and junior project members for project management practices and understanding.
  • Manages and set standards for project teams consists of technical, application, business unit, project coordinators, project managers, and contractors to ensure high-quality delivery standards.
  • Oversees adherence and compliances towards MAHB policies, governance, rules, and regulations by all stakeholders and contractors. Ensure that all PMO process and standards documents are updated and follows process based on MAHB policies.
  • Identify projects which are potential to be delayed or at risk of having a cost over-run and drive team to take necessary action to avert the situation.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership and effective coordination with all project stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.

Key Challenges

  • Timely and Cost-Efficient Delivery
    • Projects must be completed on schedule and within the approved budget. Additional requirements and change requests should not affect the original timeline or cost unless properly assessed and approved.
  • Scope Changes and Change Requests
    • Many projects undergo significant changes due to evolving needs that differ from the original scope and requirement statements, resulting in frequent change requests.
  • Project Management Capability Development
    • Most PMO staff are not PMP certified and have limited exposure to formal project management training. There is a critical need to enhance their understanding of project management standards and monitoring processes through regular training and awareness initiatives.
  • Cross-Unit Support for High Project Volume
    • With a high number of IT projects initiated annually, the PMO requires consistent support from other IT units for effective implementation and execution.

Education

External        

  • Degree preferably with in Information Technology, Computer Science, related or equivalent field

Relevant Industries

External        

  • Degree with minimum 3.0 CGPA and 5 years relevant working experience. 
  • Possession of Project Management certifications is considered an added advantage    
  • Should have been involved in at least 5 or more Project management roles as Project manager.
  • Project related trainings and certifications are an added key advantage.
  • Should have a brief knowledge of PMI’s PMBoK and its processes
  • Experience in IT Projects and IT System Development Life Cycle
