Job Description

POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY

  • Execute & grow Commercial business plans and marketing strategies to ensure successful execution of commercial contracts so as to maximize revenue generation. Lynchpin within Commercial Operations, improving hand shakes, also with Commercial Business. Building core business capabilities through account management and space/revenue optimization while ensuring continuous improvement; business sustainability and higher stakeholder value, within Commercial Operations and across Commercial Division/ MAHB Group.
       

 

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

  • Support the Manager in providing end-to-end account management, covering commercial operations, service quality and compliance.
  • Responsible for half of targeted Major Accounts, regardless for Retail, F&B, Services, or even Ancillary (office, storage) business, either at MA Sepang or all MASB airports.
  • Act as secondary focal point for customer experience, handling key accounts and escalated cases to ensure service excellence.
  • Collaborate with BDS unit from pre-Tender stage of Strategy & Planning, through to execution of the entire Tender process alongside BATM Manager (including Tender advertisement/ documents, bid process, open/ close, TEC- evaluation committee, clarification process & final recommendation), up till tender award and all related Management/ Board approvals.
  • Support Manager in service quality and reporting of Contract Management Operation (CMO) functions alongside both the unit & line Managers. 
  • Lead contract compliance Kaizen efforts, thus improve current reporting (formats, content, context & frequency). For example, regular monthly Contract status (eg: total Contract Value, Active Contracts, acceptance of offer and compliance such as SD etc).
  • Work with Manager and Commercial Management team on resolution of ongoing challenges such as Audit findings, of which heavy load at Ops is on the Tender process and CMO activities, thus reducing risk of legal issues. 
  • Collaborate and co-lead special projects within Commercial Operations
  • Support Manager to prepare all relevant Management Papers & Presentations or Board Approvals required, especially Tender and Contract related eg: Commercial Mobilisation Steering Committee (SC) or Strategy papers for Commercial Operations, also support ops units eg: Single Party Approval (SPA).
  • Develop strong stakeholder relationships- internal and external. For example, within MAHB with Finance, Legal, Transformation Management Office (TMO), Operational Excellence Guest Experince (OEGX), even Human Capital (HC) team matters. Also externally with all Government Ministries/ Agencies/ Associations eg: MOT, MITI, Teraju.
  • Manage the end-to-end CSD audit process from preparation to reporting, alongside with Corporate Quality Management (CQM). Audit, with a more comprehensive audit scope to support the development of tenant performance management and space planning strategies.

Key Challenges

  • 3 Critical Gaps identified within Commercial Services Division.
    • First, is Reporting (Format, Structure, Accuracy and general availability- eg: need to ask multiple parties/ unit in Commercial), 
    • Escalation Management (upward & downward, multiple case examples), lack of (strong)
    • Leadership within units and across CSD, beyond just Senior Managements, SM's etc but also Management and middle management (Manager/ SE) level, to include clear hand shakes & ownership.

• Passion in retail and business development, with strong working knowledge of its promotion and marketing aspects.
• Familiar in providing market, industry and business intelligence to Management through internal & external analysis
• Positive can do attitude, combined with a determined approach to researching and analyzing business opportunities.
• Proven commitment and consistency, with the ability to think independently, drive results & develop performing teams.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills, combined with strong interpersonal & negotiation skills and ability to work with all levels of personnel.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with team-player mentality and approach.
• Good command of the English language (spoken and written).      

Education

External

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Mass Communication, Advertising, Marketing or Commercial Management.     

Relevant Industries

External

  • Bachelor Degree In Business Administration or equivalent with 5 years related experience
  • Well versed, knowledgeable & experienced in Retail segment, with end to end operational plus some business development experience in high end Departmental Stores, Food & Beverage and/ or Service Management industry.
  • Strong understanding of commercial customers/ tenants and market dynamics, as well as requirements.
  • Familiar with authorities requirement and possess strong networking skills with government authorities/corporate bodies (eg: MOT, MITI, Teraju), strategic partners, all external & internal stakeholders.
