Job Description
POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY
Plan, manage and monitor the operation of baggage handling system and ensuring smooth running of the system to the best of its performance so as to ensure operational efficeincy and cost optimization.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
- Develop, review and enforce operation to ensure highest level of system availability and reliability for the baggage handling system facilities.
- Adhere with Company’s policies, procedures, guidelines, local/international regulations and legislations, quality management system, EMS, OHSAS, Green Globe 21 and any other certifications.
- Prepare timely and accurate reporting for the BHS facilities.
- Plan, prepare and implement the unit yearly budget (OPEX and CAPEX).
- Develop staff competency and skill in order to improve the effectiveness of BHS operational activities.
- Keep abreast of new technology in order to properly plan for future enhancement and efficiency improvement of the assigned airport system and facilities.
- Assist on the special projects in order to ensure the assigned airport system and facilities requirements are properly addressed.
- Coordinate effectively and timely during any system crisis and emergency situation.
- Implement the project and contract management.
- Analyze technical and financial data and recommends for continuous improvement action
Key Challenges
- To follow up and resolve all BHS operational issues.
- High dependency on the Airflow system that makes the operation activities seem totally automated.
- Lack of management skill at airports; people competency and people development
- To keep abreast with BHS related latest technology and best practices in the industry.
- People competency and the task to develop people
Skills
- Sound knowledge in operation management, contract management, quality management system & SAP
- Able to represent the unit in Management and external meetings
- Good writing, communication and interpersonal skills
- Result driven and resourceful
- Able to work independently with mininum supervision
Relevant Industries
Internal
- Degree with minimum 3 years relevant working experience in Executive role
- Must achieve and maintain the following performance rating for two (2) consecutive years of at least Exceptional / A or Outstanding / B; and Minimum Meet Expectations / C
- The employee must not be subjected to disciplinary punishments except for disciplinary counselling, caution, reminder & warning for the past 36 consecutive months immediately preceding the promotion
External
- Degree with minimum 3 years relevant working experience in Executive role
Unique Requirement
- Must register with Board of Engineer Malaysia
Education
Internal
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering
External
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineering Minimum CGPA 3.0
- Master Degree is an added advantage Minimum CGPA 3.0
