Job Description

POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY

  • The Project Manager/Project Director's Representative for the Asset Replacement Program Baggage Handling System  (ARP BHS) project will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the ongoing BHS ARP within the airport. This includes planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, as per the outlined scope, and within budget.        

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTION

  • Support the Project Director (PD) for the BHS project and provide expertise in the execution of the Asset Replacement Program Baggage Handling System KL International Airport (ARP BHS). 
  • Lead and provide strategic leadership and technical, operational, financial, and managerial leadership for successful implementation of overall project activities within the stipulated time, cost and quality until completion of the Defect Liability Period,
  • Drive and oversee engagement with stakeholders and senior management. 
  • Implement structured weekly and monthly reviews to ensure responsibility, track progress, and guarantee accurate, timely reporting of project deliverables and obligations.
  • Ensure effective alignment with the Contractor, Consultants & internal team to deliver the project as per approved baseline programme. 
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders, including airport authorities, airlines, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
  • Monitor project progress and make adjustments as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support the PD to prepare and present the project reports to the senior management.
  • To work closely with the PD to ensure strategy implementation is in line with the organisational objectives.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team.
  • Perform other duties as may be required/directed by the supervisor in line with the organizational requirement.

Key Challenges

  • To ensure the BHS ARP-approved design and technical aspects are updated and implemented accordingly,
  • To assist the MAHB project team and work together with the OEM's project team.   

Skills

  • Strong technical expertise in BHS, project management and communication skills Experience, good understanding, and working knowledge in overall BHS solutions including the relevant authority bodies, 
  • Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences.
  • Self-motivated and able to maintain focus in a pressured environment 
  • Strong understanding and conscious of safe work practive
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work independently 
  • Familiar with Factories and Machinery Act 1967, Environmental Quality Act and Occupational Safety and Health 1994.

Education

External        

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, recognized by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)
  • Minimum 15 year's end-to-end experience in design, delivery and implementation of Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) for large scale aviation infrastructure projects.
  • Proven involvement in BHS design and integration across multi-country airport environments or multi-stakeholder engagements.
  • Experience in delivering brownfield BHS projects in a must.  

 

External (Global)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, recognised by a reputable university worldwide or under the Washington Accord. 
  • Minimum 15 year's end-to-end experience in design, delivery and implementation of Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) for large scale aviation infrastructure projects.
  • Proven involvement in BHS design and integration across multi-country airport environments or multi-stakeholder engagements.
  • Experience in delivering brownfield BHS projects in a must.
