Position General Summary

• The role is pivotal in planning and driving strategic Data & AI activities across the organization. Responsible to develop and formulate AI, Machine Learning, and interconnect/partner reporting initiatives to continuously enhance business performance, reporting, customer experience, and enterprise application development, all in support of MAHB's strategic objectives
• To identify business opportunities where AI can be applied, collaborate with data science and engineering teams to develop solutions, and ensure that products created with the help of AI deliver actual value to users.
• Collaborate with management, data scientists, engineers, and stakeholders, define product vision and AI use cases, manage model lifecycle (from prototyping to deployment), evaluate AI performance and iterate based on feedback, ensuring compliance with fairness, accountability, and transparency standards.
• This includes overseeing predictive and descriptive analytics, machine learning models, and advanced artificial intelligence developments. Furthermore, you will act as a Change Agent, collaborating with the MAHB Transformation Management Office to execute change management initiatives, fostering a culture of innovation, design thinking, and data/AI literacy within human resources.
• Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Business Analysts to productionize AI solutions, ensuring that data is appropriately prepared and optimized for AI/ML training and inference
• The role requires guiding the team in technical issues, AI best practices, and implementing MLOps to support MAHB's strategic business objectives and analytics capabilities

Essential Position Functions

• Strategic Leadership & Advisory: Execute the finalized MAHB AI Framework. Synthesize research findings to provide strategic guidance on AI capabilities, ethical AI use, and identifying potential AI solutions for complex aviation business challenges. Act as a Solution Architect who continuously scans the global landscape for new AI technologies and innovative solutions that align with MAHB’s diverse business requirements across the board.
• Team & Community Management: Lead the AI Center of Excellence (COE) and AI Engineers. Act as the primary driver for the AI community within MAHB, fostering a culture of innovation and cross-functional literacy.
• AI/ML Model Management: Oversee the end-to-end development, deployment, and MLOps of AI/ML models. Ensure the effective ""run and maintain"" lifecycle to meet MAHB’s ongoing analytical needs.
• AI Data Architecture & Preparation: Develop and manage specialized data architectures for AI/ML workloads, including feature stores and robust data governance. Ensure data is appropriately prepared, labeled, and optimized for both training and inference.
• AI Solution Integration: Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure AI solutions are effectively integrated into existing airport systems, ensuring they meet specific business needs and drive measurable value.
• System Optimization: Proactively monitor model performance to prevent data and concept drift. Advise on necessary infrastructure or framework adjustments required to maintain or scale AI capabilities.
• Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives for the continual refinement of machine learning methods and algorithms, staying ahead of industry trends to keep MAHB at the forefront of "Smart Airport" technology. 

Key Challenges

1. Synchronizing cross-functional liaison work to meet implementation datelines of various Big Data and AI initiatives
2. Coordinating the development of a unified digital platform that seamlessly supports both Big Data and AI capabilities
3. Ensuring the Data Lake serves as a reliable ""single source of truth"", critical for robust AI model training and inference
4. Developing the skills required in AI adoption and exploration across the Organization
5. Stakeholder management and expectation of AI solution.

Skills

1. Able to work independently, good communication skills and able to liaise across different levels of management, dedicated, and have endurance
2. Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpretation and conceptual competencies; passionate about creating value through analytical methods, machine learning, and data analysis
3. Very knowledgeable in Google Gemini components, other AI tools and has deep AI Technical Proficiency and Specialized AI Product Skills 
4. Strong understanding and experience using machine learning algorithms, deep learning, NLP, or computer vision
5. Proficiency in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, predictive analytics, and optimization algorithms
6. Experience in developing, deploying, and maintaining AI/ML models (MLOps)
7. Ability to understand customer challenges and define, architect, document, and implement technical AI solutions
8. MLOps & Orchestration: Mastery of the ML lifecycle (Kubeflow, MLflow, or SageMaker) with a focus on automated CI/CD pipelines for machine learning.
9. Data Engineering for AI: Deep understanding of Feature Stores, data labeling workflows, and building ETL pipelines specifically optimized for high-dimensional AI data.
10. Architecture Design: Ability to design scalable AI architectures that handle real-time inference (e.g., passenger flow monitoring) and batch processing.
11. Advanced Modelling: Proficiency in building Agentic AI solutions using Python, including autonomous agents, tool-integrated LLM workflows, multi-agent systems, and reasoning-based orchestration frameworks.
12. Advanced knowledge of Google Cloud Platform is an advantage.

Education

External        

• Degree preferably with specialization in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Statistics
  Master degree would be an added advantage
• Minimum 5 years of experience in leading a team
• Advanced knowledge of Big Data analytics, AI/ML model development, and MLOps    

Relevant Industries

External

• Degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience driving AI initiatives, product development, or advanced analytics. 

• Experience in the following industries is highly preferred:

  • Aviation & Logistics: Smart airport operations, airlines, or supply chain logistics.

  • Tech & Cloud Services: AI/ML product development, SaaS, or cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).

  • Smart Infrastructure & Telecom: IoT, computer vision, and large-scale physical-digital systems.

  • Financial Services (FinTech/BFSI): Mature, data-driven environments managing robust AI frameworks and predictive modeling.
